The awards ceremony will end at 4 pm. Due to transportation factors in Singapore, we advise not booking same-day flight tickets back to New Zealand.
Please arrange accommodation and travel plans accordingly after the ceremony.
FAQ / Terms & Conditions
1. What is the package price? What does the package price include?
Package price (NZD 2480.00) for each person for twin sharing room (4D3N) •Hotel with daily breakfast •Goodie bag and t-shirt upon arrival in Singapore •Transportation - Airport pickup to hotel (only on 19th July & 20th July) - Hotel to competition venue - Competition venue to hotel - Hotel to Award ceremony venue - Award ceremony venue to hotel •Lunch, mineral water and snack for all students and teachers during competition day •Gala Buffet lunch for all guests during award ceremony •NZD 2480.00 per pax inclusive of 9% GST (Goods & Service Tax) and 10% hotel service charge
2. What will the hotel room be like?
International 3.5 Stars Hotel -2 single bedrooms or 1 Double bedroom -Breakfast for 2 people daily -Room size – 25m2 to 35m2 -Air-conditioning -Free Wi-Fi
3. Anything I need to wear or to bring?
Wear SIMOC T-shirt on the competition day. Must remember to bring along your contest pass, pencil, and eraser. Please wear your ethnic costume during the award ceremony day. Parents need to wear smart casual. Please bring along a photocopy of the passport for the hotel registration.
4. Refund policies, cancellation/ no show, and late fees?
No refund is allowed once the registration is submitted as we are unable to request for refund from the hotel, transportation partner and other arrangements. PGA reserves the right to charge full amount of the package for any cancellation. Should there be any no-show for confirmed reservations; a charge for full package will be levied as no-show charge. Any registration received after 15 May 2024, closing will be charged at a higher rate as the hotels will not offer us the contracted rates any more.
5. Is the travel insurance included in the fee?
No. Travel insurance is not included in the package. All the students and guests must purchase travel insurance coverage. PGA is not responsible for, nor will it be held liable for, any injury, damage or loss suffered on account of any conditions, actions or omissions that are beyond its reasonable control during SIMOC 2024.
6. Who is responsible for my safety?
Students and parents should be responsible for their personal safety. PGA's major responsibility is organizing the competition itself, and do not have duty of care to students' or travellers' trip to Singapore. Please complete the PGA TRAVEL and TRIP RISK ACKNOWLEDGEMENT/LIABILITY WAIVER FORM.
7. What are the meals?
Packages include international buffet breakfast. Arrangements for special dietary such as vegetarian food is subject to hotel availability. You must state inside the registration list. No last-minute meal dietary requests can be arranged.
8. Check-in and Check-out Date and Time
Check-in time is from 1500 hours. Check-in before 1500 hours is subject to room availability. Check-out time is before 1100 hours. All late check-out requests are subject to availability and there will be additional charges from the hotels for late check-out. All standard packages are based on 4 days 3 nights. Guests will be responsible for handling any room extensions individually unless the majority or all of them opt to extend their stay together. Additionally, please note that the room rate may vary for the extended day. PGA reserves the right to adjust the package price in case the hotel room rate increases due to late registration.
9. Transport
Airport transportation for arrivals will be organized exclusively for individuals who have furnished their flight information during the registration process. Any changes to the flight details after the registration closing subject to transport availability in the new timing. PGA is not responsible to pay for the Grab or taxi fee if the guest(s) chooses not to wait for the arranged coach and want to take their own transport.
10. Award Ceremony
Each package purchased is allocated to only 1 award ceremony ticket. All guests must purchase the package to get the award ceremony ticket. PGA will not sell award ceremony ticket to any individual without the package. No refund of award ceremony fee if the guest(s) or student decide not to attend the ceremony.
11. Can my child travel alone? What will be the fees?
Underage students must be accompanied by a guardian when traveling to Singapore. In exceptional circumstances where the guardian is unable to accompany the student, they may seek another adult to accompany them to Singapore. However, in cases where the guardian does not accompany the student, in addition to the $3000 examination fee, a management fee of $2480 is required. Moreover, it is necessary to make a note in the "Note" section of the registration form, and sign the Child Travel Consent Form.
