🌍 What is AIO?
The Australian Informatics Olympiad (AIO) is a prestigious national competition that tests students' advanced problem-solving and computer programming skills.
During the contest, students design algorithms and translate them into working code, using their creativity, logic, and technical knowledge to solve complex problems. The AIO challenges participants to move beyond textbook examples and truly think like professional programmers.
It’s an exciting opportunity for students in Years 8–13 (younger students are also welcome!) to showcase their talents in algorithmic thinking and coding.

🧠 Why Participate in AIO?
🌟 Master Algorithmic Thinking
Learn to break down challenging problems, design efficient algorithms, and think strategically like a true computer scientist.
🌟 Build Strong Programming Skills
Tackle real-world coding tasks using core skills like file handling, variables, arrays, loops, conditionals, and simple arithmetic.
🌟 Compete Using Popular Programming Languages
Students can code in C, C++, Java, or Python 3—giving them the flexibility to showcase their strengths in familiar environments.
🌟 Access Real-Time Feedback
Submissions are judged automatically during the competition based on speed and correctness. Students can see their scores updated live, making the AIO a thrilling and dynamic challenge.
🌟 Earn Prestigious Awards
Outstanding performers are recognised with Gold, Silver, Bronze, Credit, and Participation awards, making the AIO a valuable addition to any academic portfolio.
