The Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) is a prestigious and globally recognized mathematics contest. Open to New Zealand students from Year 4 to Year 13, the AMC is an excellent opportunity to showcase mathematical skills and gain international recognition.
What is AMC?
Since 1978, the AMC, organized by the Australian Mathematics Trust (AMT), has been a benchmark for mathematical excellence, attracting participants from over 30 countries. It aims to foster a love for mathematics and enhance problem-solving skills.

Schedule and Venues
In 2024, the AMC will be held from August 6 to August 8 at 16:30 across multiple exam venues, offering flexibility for participants.
How to prepare and achieve high scores?
PGA offers a Sprint Class to help students prepare for the AMC and aim for top honours.
About the Sprint Class
Schedule:Â Weekly sessions on Thursdays or Saturdays, totalling 6 sessions.
Duration:Â Each session is 1.5 hours.
Course Focus
Advanced Techniques:Â Strategies for challenging AMC problems.
Problem-Solving Skills:Â Enhancing logical reasoning and analytical thinking.
Exam Preparation:Â Practice with AMC past papers.
Eligibility
Students must meet one of the following criteria:
Distinction or High Distinction in the KSF 2024
Distinction or High Distinction in the AMC 2022 or 2023
