What is NJIO?

National Junior Informatics Olympiad (NJIO) was known as DrCT.

 

It is an innovative approach designed to spark students’interest in programming by leveraging the principles of computational thinking and block programming.

 

NJIO accomplishes this goal by breaking down complex problems into manageable parts, fostering an engaging and accessible learning environment.

Competition date and time:

Sun 11 May 2025 at 19:00 (NZ Time)

 

Closing date of registering: Fri 2 May 2025

The successful registration is confirmed upon receipt of the registration fee.

Fees for the NJIO is $68 per student.

Please note: If you registered after the deadline, the fees will be doubled.

Steam Ahead IJIO - NZ Years 2-13

Perfect scorer, Gold, Silver and Bronze Winners of NJIO -  will be invited to join STEAM AHEAD to compete in the STEAM AHEAD 2025 – International Junior Informatics Olympiad (IJIO) for NZ Years 2-13.
They will have a chance to win the President’s Award for Excellence in Steam Star.

Steam Ahead IJCO by National University of Singapore - NZ Year 8 and above

Perfect scorer, Gold, Silver and Bronze winners of NJIO - will be invited to join International Junior CyberSecurity Olympiad (IJCO) organized by National University of Singapore, School of Computing for NZ Year 8 and above. 
They will have a chance to win the President’s Award for Excellence in Steam Star.

Schools and participants will receive the following:

1. Medals and Certificates for Perfect Scorers, Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.

2. Personalized medals for Perfect Scorers.

 

3.E-certificates are also given to participants who qualify for Honorable Mention or attain Certificate of Participation.

 

4. All participants will receive an Online performance report which analyses their capabilities across different topics and benchmarks their performance with other participants in the same grade and country/territory.
