What is KSF

Kangourou sans Frontières (KSF), now known as Kangaroo without borders. It has grown to become one of the largest international mathematics competitions in the world, with more than 6 million participants annually.

 

Division (NZ Year)

Middle Primary (60 mins) : Year 4-5, can use calculator

Upper Primary (60 mins): Year 6-7, can use calculator

Junior (75 mins) : Year 8-9, can NOT use calculator

Intermediate (75 mins) : Year 10-11, can NOT use calculator

Senior (75 mins) : Year 12-13, can NOT use calculator

Students can sit at the level above their school year, but cannot attend the division below.

KSF is a great lead-up event for the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC).

PGA reserves the right to interpret all competition and course arrangements.

Middle Primary division

  • Questions 1–8
    3 marks

  • Questions 9–16
    4 marks

  • Questions 17–24
    5 marks

  • Total 96 marks

There is no penalty for incorrect responses.

Upper Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior divisions

  • Questions 1–10
    3 marks

  • Questions 11–20
    4 marks

  • Questions 21–30
    5 marks

  • Total 120 marks

There is no penalty for incorrect responses.
