CCC = Part A (75%) + Part B (25%)
Part A (1 hour): 25 multiple choice questions.
Part A is slightly beyond NZ Year 13 curriculum. Ranking is done with part A.
Part B (1.5 hours): Essay question.
CCC Part A counts for 75%, Part B counts for 25%.
CCO = Part A (40%) + Part C (60%)
Part A (1 hour): 25 multiple-choice questions.
Part C (2 hours) : short answer questions
- Caution: Extremely Challenging.
Part C Level of difficulty is far beyond NZ Year 13 curriculum.
CCO Part A counts for 40%, Part C counts for 60%.
Year Level:
Suitable for NZ Year 11-13 students.
The Canadian Chemistry Contest (CCC) is carried out in conjunction with the Canadian Chemistry Olympiad (CCO). The CCC fosters an appreciation of chemistry as a career for talented young people and promotes national excellence in chemistry at the high school level.
The CCC is aimed at the top 10% of Canadian high school students under 20 years of age taking chemistry.
The CCO is aimed at the top 5% of these students.
