What is Big Science？
Welcome to the Big Science Competition 2024 in PGA!
The Big Science Competition is a 50-minute, multiple-choice competition testing science knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Questions are set in real-life, contemporary contexts, making them relatable and interesting.
It's an easy way to challenge students from NZ Years 8 to 11. Competition questions are aligned with the Australian Curriculum - Science. Students will receive certificates due to their performance in the competition.
Competition date and time
Date and time: 16 May 2024
19:00-19:50 (New Zealand time)
15:00-15:50 (Perth/Beijing time) (NZST-4)
17:00-17:50 (Sydney time) (NZST-2)
Registration deadline: 24 April 2024. The registration is considered successful upon receipt of the registration fee.
Competition divisions
The challenge is available for four divisions this year:
（The school years are divided based on the Australian school year, please check the Equivalent Year Form below to check your kid's level.)
Four competition levels based on the following Years (in NZ Year):
Year 8 paper (12-13 years old)
Year 9 paper (13-14 years old)
Year 10 paper (14-15 years old)
Year 11 paper (15-16 years old)
Fees for the Big Science is $45 per student.
Please note: If you registered after the deadline, the fees will be doubled.
