What is AMO?
American Mathematics Olympiad (AMO) is jointly developed by Southern Illinois University and SIMCC to give more STEM/STEAM opportunities.
Format of the Exam
Eligibility: Singapore Grades 2-12 students (NZ Years 3 to 13)
Length: 1 hour and 30 minutes for each level.
Format of exam: Remote Online - Home Based
Calculators: NOT permitted

Time:
19:00-20:30 (NZ time)
14:00-15:30 (Beijing time, NZ time -5 hrs)
14:00-15:30 (Perth time, NZ time -5 hrs)
17:00-18:30 (Sydney time, NZ time -2 hrs)
Fees for the AMO is $68 per student.

Format of AMO
American Mathematics Olympiad is open to all Year 3-13 students.
The duration of the AMO is 1 hour and 30 minutes for each level.

Awards

The Top 40% (Bronze and above) of the participants will receive an award certificate and a medal.
Bronze and above winners are invited to compete at SIMOC 2026 to be held in Singapore.
The top 20% (Silver and above) of winners are invited to compete in STEAM AHEAD 2025 - IJMO.


Awards, Achievements and Recognition
Participants will receive the following:
1. Certificate and medal for Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.
2. Certificate, Personalized medal for Perfect Scorers.
3. E-certificates are also given to participants who qualify for Honourable Mention and Certificate of Participation.
4. Each participant will be granted an online performance and statistical report that assesses their proficiencies across various topics, comparing their achievements with those of peers in the same grade on an international scale.
Qualifying for Competitions and Programs

The top 40% (Bronze and above) winners of AMO are invited to compete at SIMOC 2026.
The top 20% of winners are invited to compete in STEAM AHEAD 2025 - IJMO.
Students must register with PGA and contest entry is available on a first come first served basis, so register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
